AQUI ENQUANTO CAMINHAMOS

Há 10 anos os festivais alkantara (Lisboa) e Panorama (Rio) me convidaram para colaborar durante um ano com um outro artista com endereço neste planeta. O projeto se chamava Encontros 2005/2006 e reunia brasileiros e portugueses para a tarefa de repensar a caixa preta fora do contexto da sala de teatro. Para se juntar a mim nesta tarefa,  chamei a austríaca Andrea Sonnberger, parceira de caminhadas e horizontes. Juntos em colaboração criamos uma caminhada-performance que viria modificar e alterar literalmente nossos caminhos como artistas e em mim em particular a minha relação com as cidades, sua arquitetura, seus contextos vividos. 

Para a peça mergulhamos na obra de Hélio Oiticica, na relação de suas obras com a arquitetura e na nossa própria experiência em movimento pelos lugares em que passávamos.   Chegamos assim pelas vias mais diversas a uma caminhada em silêncio dentro de um enorme elástico branco. Reunindo em seu interior entre 6 a 22 espectadores, levamos o público para uma jornada silenciosa através da cidade, investindo uma outra política de partilha e percepção do espaço urbano. Envoltos por esse grande elástico branco, os espectadores seguem neste passeio cujo plano é revelado pouco a pouco, como uma espécie de escultura viva, onde exterior e interior se misturam continuamente, onde o lugar é sempre movente e movido.

HERE WHILST WE WALK 

10 years ago Alkantara (Lisbon) and Panorama (Rio) festivals invited me to collaborate for a whole year with another artist in the world. The project was named Close Encounters 2005/2006 and gathered Brazilian and Portuguese artists to re-think the black box out of the context of the theater room. In order to join me in this task I invited the Austrian artist Andrea Sonnberger, partner of walks and horizons. Together in collaboration, we created a walking performance that would modify and alter literally our paths as artists and in particular my relationship with cities, their architecture, their lived contexts.

                     

For the piece we dived into Brazilian visual artist Hélio Oiticica's universe, in what regards the relationship of his pieces to architecture and our own moving experience in the places  we passed by. We came thus through the most diverse ways to the creation of a silent walk inside a big elastic. With a group of 6 up to 22 people, we would take the public for a silent journey through the city, investing in another politics of sharing and perception of the urban space, a moving sculpture, where exterior and interior blend continuously, where space is constantly being moved.
